Frequently Asked Questions

See all FAQs

What is the Little Scholar Complete Set?

The Little Scholar Complete Set is a three piece study corner, a spacious NALA desk, a matching desktop shelf that sits on top, and the height adjustable NOVA chair. As a montessori furniture set it gives a school aged child their own desk, storage and seat at the right height to work on homework, reading and craft.

What does each of the three pieces do?

The desk gives a roomy solid wood surface with a drawer, a pen groove and a hidden cable channel. The desktop shelf lifts books off the surface with movable bookends and a hole to clamp a reading lamp. The NOVA chair adjusts to keep your child seated comfortably, so the three together make a finished workspace.

What is the desktop shelf for?

The desktop shelf sits along the back of the desk and holds books upright between movable bookends, so a child can stand a row of readers and folders within easy reach without covering the writing surface. A lamp clamp hole lets you fix a reading light to the shelf, keeping the desk itself clear for work.

How does the NOVA chair adjust?

The NOVA seat sets to four heights, 335, 360, 385 and 410 mm, and slides forward or back for depth, so feet stay supported and the back stays upright. A slatted rack under the seat keeps books and a bag off the floor. The chair holds up to 100 kg, well into the older school years.

What age is the Little Scholar Complete Set for?

The set suits the primary school years, roughly from the time a child starts formal handwriting and homework. The desk stands at 750 mm and the chair seat starts at 335 mm, so it fits a school aged child rather than a small toddler, and the four seat heights keep the fit right as they get taller.

Why does a proper desk and chair matter for homework?

When a child works at an adult table on an adult chair, their feet dangle and they slump, which makes concentration harder. A desk and chair set to their size keeps feet planted, the back supported and the page at a comfortable distance, so a child can settle to a task for longer without fidgeting.

Is the Little Scholar Complete Set sturdy and safe?

Every piece is solid rubberwood with a smooth, non-toxic finish and rounded edges. The desk sits on stable A frame legs, and at 27 kg it stays planted while a child writes or leans. Stand the set on a level floor, keep the heavier books on the chair rack and in the desk drawer, and it holds firm in daily use.

Is the complete set better value than buying the pieces alone?

Buying the desk, shelf and chair together means the three match in timber and height and arrive as one coordinated corner. If you already own a chair, the Little Scholar Desk and Shelf Set drops the seat, and if you do not need the shelf, the desk and chair set leaves it out.

Sturdy, well-made and aesthetically pleasing desk and chair

We bought this desk and chair for our 6-year-old, and we’re really impressed with the quality — it’s sturdy, well-made, and will no doubt last for many years. It was hard to find a solid wood desk, so we were delighted to come across this one. We also had a few follow-up questions, and the customer service team was very responsive and helpful. Although the price point may seem higher than other MDF desks, in our opinion, the quality and longevity is wort it.
