A busy desktop fills up fast with books, folders and a lamp. The NALA Desktop Shelf lifts all of that off the surface and onto a second tier, so the desk below stays clear for actual work. It measures 1040 mm wide and screws straight onto the NALA Study Desk.

The shelf is an upright storage tier that screws securely onto the NALA Study Desk, turning a flat top into a two-level study station. It stands 435 mm high and 230 mm deep, adding a home for books, stationery and a reading lamp without crowding the writing space.

Two bookends slide along the shelf and lock wherever you need them, so books of any size stay upright rather than toppling into a heap. Move them together for a few paperbacks or apart for a row of tall picture books, and reset them as your child's collection changes.

A pre-drilled hole in the shelf holds a clip-on desk lamp firmly in place, so a reading light shines where your child needs it without eating into the desktop. It keeps the cable up off the writing surface too, which helps the work area stay clear and steady.

Because the shelf screws onto the desk rather than resting loose, it will not slide or tip while your child reaches for a book. It is solid rubberwood with a smooth, non-toxic finish and rounded edges. At 6.5 kg it is best fitted by an adult, then left in place.

An adult screws the shelf onto the NALA desk using the supplied fixings, a straightforward indoor job. To clean it, wipe the rubberwood with a cloth lightly dampened with water, then dry it off. Keep harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners and standing moisture away so the finish stays smooth.
